Uber Accidents Happen Every Day
An individual can quickly and easily book an Uber trip in South Fulton. If an Uber accident occurs, the passenger can report it directly to the rideshare company. This individual should also consult with a doctor.
By meeting with a doctor, an Uber accident victim can receive treatment for any injuries. The victim can gather medical documents relating to their injuries, too. These documents can be valuable, as they could provide the groundwork for an Uber accident lawsuit.
Do not wait to seek out an Uber accident attorney as well. The lawyer can take a look at medical treatments and expenses relating to the accident. In addition, the attorney can help their client seek the maximum amount of damages.
An Uber Accident Victim May Be Awarded Multiple Types of Damages
There are three types of damages that can be awarded in a South Fulton Uber accident case:
- General: Compensate a victim for losses that can be linked to an at-fault party’s actions. General damages are frequently referred to as economic damages.
- Special: Cover the costs relating to pain, suffering, or other emotional trauma a victim experiences due to an accident. Special damages are non-economic.
- Punitive: Given to a victim to punish an at-fault party. Punitive damages are awarded if a court deems general and special damages are insufficient; they are designed to deter the at-fault party from future acts of negligence.
A South Fulton Uber accident lawyer works with their client to calculate damages. The attorney can answer any questions their client has about the different types of damages. This lawyer also ensures that their client can file their lawsuit in a suitable time frame.
Time Is Limited for Filing a South Fulton Uber Accident Lawsuit
A South Fulton Uber accident victim has up to two years to sue an at-fault party. During this time, it helps to determine the at-fault parties in the accident. Then, the victim can file their lawsuit against these parties before the statute of limitations for personal injury claims expires.
There can be several parties responsible for an Uber accident. For instance, an Uber driver who did not follow the rules of the road can be held accountable. An accident victim can sue the driver’s insurance company and other parties at the same time.
Meeting with an Uber accident lawyer in South Fulton offers a great starting point for determining the at-fault parties. The attorney can help the client submit the required paperwork for a lawsuit within an appropriate time frame. From here, the attorney and their client can work together to build a strong case.

A Wide Range of Evidence Can Be Presented in an Uber Accident Case
The evidence presented in an Uber accident case varies based on the circumstances surrounding the incident. For example, a passenger injured in an Uber accident may provide medical bills as evidence. Meanwhile, a motorist struck by an Uber driver may present car repair expenses to the court.
Accident witnesses can share their testimony. Witnesses can provide insights into what they saw during the accident. They can help a judge or jury understand why an accident victim deserves to be awarded damages.
An Uber accident attorney in South Fulton and their client must review the evidence at their disposal carefully. This helps the lawyer and their client understand what pieces of evidence deliver the most value. The attorney and their client can then finalize their legal strategy.
An Uber Accident Case Can Get Settled Before a Court Date Arrives
If an at-fault party is worried about the results of a case, it may present a settlement offer to the Uber accident victim. The offer gives the victim and at-fault party an opportunity to resolve the claim. However, the offer must meet the needs of both parties.
An Uber accident victim must weigh the pros and cons of any settlement offer that comes their way. The victim’s attorney can help their client examine the offer from all angles. If the victim decides the offer is inadequate, this individual and the at-fault party can proceed with their court date.
There may be multiple settlement offers exchanged between an Uber accident victim and the at-fault party before they go to court. Both parties are expected to negotiate in the weeks leading up to a court date. Regardless of the amount of negotiations, a settlement offer must provide sufficient damages to the victim to match their expectations.
