About Pedestrian Accident Representation
We represent pedestrians of all ages—children, adults, and seniors—who were hit while crossing, walking, or standing near traffic in Snellville. Families of loved ones lost in fatal collisions can bring wrongful death claims.
Our pedestrian accident attorneys in Snellville handle driver negligence cases involving speeding, failure to yield, left‑turn conflicts, distracted driving, and impaired driving. We also pursue claims involving commercial trucks, delivery vans, rideshare vehicles, and uninsured drivers.
When road design or traffic control devices contribute to a crash, we evaluate potential claims against responsible entities. Those cases require fast action because shorter notice periods may apply.
Georgia Right-of-Way Rules for Snellville Pedestrians
Georgia law requires drivers to stop and remain stopped for pedestrians in marked crosswalks when the pedestrian is on the driver’s half of the roadway or approaching closely from the opposite half. Drivers must also use due care to avoid colliding with pedestrians and exercise extra caution around children.
Pedestrians outside crosswalks have duties too, including yielding to vehicles when crossing mid‑block and avoiding suddenly stepping into the path of a vehicle. Both drivers and pedestrians must follow signals at intersections.
These rules don’t excuse a driver who was speeding, impaired, or distracted. Violations can support fault against the driver, while a pedestrian’s violations may reduce—but not always bar—recovery depending on the facts.
How Fault and Liability Are Determined in Snellville
Fault in a Snellville pedestrian crash turns on evidence. We gather police reports, 911 audio, body‑cam video, traffic‑camera footage, dashcam clips, and nearby business surveillance to reconstruct what happened.
We also analyze event data recorders, phone records when lawfully obtainable, scene measurements, lighting conditions, and vehicle damage patterns. Medical documentation and biomechanics help show how the impact caused your injuries.
Comparative Negligence Under Georgia Law
Georgia follows a modified comparative negligence rule. Your compensation is reduced by your percentage of fault, and recovery is barred only if you are 50% or more at fault.
Insurers often overstate pedestrian fault to shrink payouts. We counter with facts, expert analysis when warranted, and witness testimony to set the record straight.

What to Do After a Pedestrian Crash in Snellville
Your actions in the hours and days after a collision can affect both health and compensation. Quick medical care documents injuries and links them to the crash, while preserving evidence makes it harder for insurers to dispute fault.
Follow these steps after a Snellville pedestrian accident, if possible:
- Calling 911 and requesting a police report and EMS evaluation
- Getting immediate medical care and following treatment plans
- Photographing the scene, your injuries, and any vehicle damage
- Preserving shoes and clothing in a bag for later inspection
- Gathering witness names, numbers, and nearby camera locations
- Declining recorded statements and contacting a Snellville pedestrian accident lawyer promptly
The Compensation Available in a Snellville Pedestrian Claim
Our pedestrian accident attorney in Snellville can pursue medical costs, future treatment, rehabilitation, assistive devices, and in‑home care when needed. Lost income, diminished earning capacity, and job retraining may also be part of your claim.
Non‑economic damages include pain, emotional distress, scarring, loss of mobility, and loss of enjoyment of daily life. These harms are real, and we present them with medical support and day‑in‑the‑life evidence when helpful.
In DUI or reckless driving cases, punitive damages may be available to punish and deter extreme misconduct. Wrongful death claims may recover funeral costs, medical bills, and the full value of the life of the decedent.
Deadlines, Filing, and What It Costs to Hire Us in Snellville
Most Georgia personal injury claims must be filed within two years, though exceptions can shorten or extend that period. Claims against government entities can require formal notice in as little as six months, so quick action is important.
Criminal proceedings tied to the crash can pause the civil deadline under Georgia law, and minors may have different timelines. We confirm the correct deadline early and file on time.
Our attorneys work on a contingency fee, which means no upfront fees and no hourly bills. We get paid only if we recover money for you.
Evidence That Strengthens Your Snellville Pedestrian Case
Strong cases are built on timely, detailed evidence. We secure traffic‑camera and business‑camera video near where the accident occurred before it disappears. Video evidence can help clarify when and how you entered the crosswalk.
Witness statements are captured while memories are fresh, and we cross‑reference them with physical evidence like skid marks, vehicle damage, and injury patterns. When needed, we consult accident reconstruction and human‑factors professionals to explain visibility, speed, and driver reaction times.
Medical records, imaging, therapy notes, and provider opinions connect each injury to the collision. Footwear, torn clothing, and debris can also show impact points and movement at the scene. Our attorneys will combine all the evidence we find into a comprehensive demand to the insurer.
