Getting Compensated for Your Damages
More than 28% of traffic fatalities at intersections happen because of a reckless or distracted driver blowing through a red light, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). Red light accidents can cause tremendous amounts of damages, all of which you can get compensated with the aid of an experienced lawyer.
Medical Expenses
Car accidents can leave you stuck with massive amounts of medical bills. Medical treatment in the U.S. is exceptionally high, and treatment for even a moderate injury can cost thousands of dollars. If you require more extensive treatment, you can quickly find yourself in massive amounts of debt just for seeking aid after an accident that wasn’t your fault.
Retain all of your medical records and receipts for our lawyers. We will consult with experts and make our own calculations to ensure that all of your medical expenses get covered in your settlement. We will hold the negligent driver responsible for running the red light that caused your accident liable for your medical costs.
Vehicle Repair or Replacement
A red light accident will most likely cause your car to suffer extensive damages. In the end, it doesn’t matter how much damage your vehicle has suffered.
If you need it repaired or replaced, our lawyers can see that you get compensation for whatever work you need done. You can be reimbursed for any repairs or payments you’ve made or get the money you need to begin fixing your car.
Non-Economic Damages
These damages refer to the damages you sustained that do not have any fixed value from an invoice, statement, etc. Instead, the value of these damages depends highly on:
- The impact they’ve had on your life.
- The amount of misery they’ve caused.
- The context surrounding your case and the severity of your accident.
We will use various formulas and other cases to derive an amount that reflects how much you deserve accurately. Insurance companies often downplay the severity of non-economic damages like pain and suffering or loss of enjoyment of life. Our attorneys will fight hard to make certain that all of your non-economic damages get properly and fairly compensated.
Holding the At-Fault Party Liable
Reckless and distracted driving has been increasing more and more with every year that passes. This alarming issue has contributed significantly to the number of red light accidents that happen throughout the country. To prevent further accidents like this from happening again, it is critical that you hold the negligent driver responsible accountable for their actions.
Even in cases such as red light accidents, insurance companies will still put up a fight to try and deflect any responsibility. This is because they are businesses first above all else and will always seek to protect their money. If you want to hold the at-fault party liable, then you will need to have strong evidence backing you in addition to strong negotiating power.
Alone, it can be challenging to negotiate for a settlement against the seemingly infinite amount of resources and legal expertise that insurance companies have. This is why we recommend seeing a lawyer as soon as possible after your accident. The longer you wait, the harder it will become to get the settlement you deserve.
You Have Two Years to File a Claim
In Georgia, the statute of limitations to file a claim after your red light accident is only two years. Two years can go by quickly. Many people wait too long to file and lose their chance to secure financial compensation for their damages.
Our attorneys know the best time to file your claim and help you build a strong case. We will be with you every step of the way. Let our team focus on handling the legal aspects of your accident so you can focus on what matters the most, your recovery.
