If you or someone close to you has been injured in an Uber accident in Lithonia, you need a Lithonia rideshare accident lawyer to protect your rights. Uber accidents are complex and tiresome. Without an experienced Uber accident lawyer in your corner, you’ll be at the mercy of Uber and their insurance providers, who don’t have your best interest.
A professional lawyer will review your case and advocate tirelessly for your rights. They will do their best to hold the liable party or parties responsible for the Uber accident that caused your injuries. The lawyer will also pursue the compensation you need to make a full recovery.
Let a Lithonia Uber Accident Lawyer Handle the Case for You
The Uber business model is straightforward. Drivers sign up as independent contractors, and when Uber approves, they get access to software that links them with passengers. The software allows passengers to request rides via an app.
But the insurance and liability arrangements of such service can cause massive problems in the event of an accident. You may need a Lithonia Uber accident lawyer to help handle liability and damages in such cases.
Uber accident is not something you’d wish to navigate alone, especially since you might have things like lost wages and medical bills to worry about. A Lithonia Uber accident lawyer can guide you through the legal challenges of an Uber accident. With professional legal assistance, you’ll have more leverage in settlement negotiations and get the compensation you deserve.
Can You Sue Uber Directly?
It is difficult to sue Uber directly. That’s because Uber drivers are independent contractors. Therefore, Uber is not automatically liable for drivers’ actions.
If you want to sue Uber successfully, you must prove that the company negligently hired a dangerous driver, and as a result, you sustained injuries due to the driver’s actions. But proving negligence can be tough if you don’t have legal knowledge. An experienced Uber accident lawyer can argue your case.
Keep in mind that Uber and its insurers are not on your side. The two might cooperate and claim that they have your best interest at heart, but they do not. Your Uber accident attorney in Lithonia will protect you against lowball settlement offers and work to get a complete payout from the Uber insurance company.
Compensation You Are Entitled to
If you are a victim of an Uber accident, you are entitled to compensation based on;
- Medical expenses you incurred.
- Property loss or damage.
- Pain and suffering.
- Lost wages.
Your attorney will help you analyze your case and determine the best course of action. If the insurance company offers to settle the claim out of court, your attorney will negotiate and ensure you get the best deal possible.

What to Do After an Uber Accident in Georgia
If you are a victim of an Uber accident, you should follow these steps to improve your chances of receiving compensation. They are;
- Inform the authorities: It would be best to call the police immediately after the accident occurs. This way, you’ll make a formal report on the accident, and you’ll have documentation to prove your claim.
- Report the accident to Uber:This may be useful if you decide to sue the company.
- Note down the number plates of vehicles involved: If you plan to file a claim, you need the number plates of vehicles involved. Be sure to note them down.
- Get contact information of drivers and witnesses: To receive compensation, you’ll need witnesses to corroborate your story. Get their contact information and urge them to record a statement with the police.
- Take photos:If possible, take photos of the accident and visible injuries if you have any.
- Go to hospital:It is crucial that you seek medical attention. Remember to ask for receipts and documents to prove treatment or hospitalization.
- Hire an Uber accident lawyer:It would be best to hire an accident lawyer to pursue your claim and negotiate a settlement on your behalf.
Note that you mustn’t accept any settlement the driver at fault offers before contacting your lawyer.
What Is the Average Uber Accident Settlement?
It is difficult to estimate how much money you’ll get as a settlement for an Uber accident claim because each case is unique. What victims spend on medical expenses and other accident-related costs varies depending on the accident and the extent of injuries.
Most settlements are confidential, so it’s hard to tell how much the insurance company will offer you. Generally, minor injuries are often valued under $15,000. But this number increases in serious Uber accident claims with severe injuries.
A few variables come into play for serious injuries. For example, if it’s established that the Uber driver was at fault for the Uber accident that resulted in the injury, you can claim even more than $50,000. Your Lithonia Uber accident lawyer will help provide these estimates based on your case.
The Rights of the Uber Driver
If you are an Uber driver, you can benefit from Uber’s insurance. Uber’s insurance would cover you if the other driver were liable and uninsured. To benefit from the insurance cover, you must prove that;
- The other driver is liable for the accident.
- The accident took place when you were on the clock.
- You sustained injuries or property damage due to the accident.
To shield yourself in case of an Uber accident, we recommend getting supplemental coverage that provides for rental car reimbursement, emergency roadside assistance, and medical coverage.
What If I’m at Fault?
If you believe you may have caused an Uber accident, don’t admit liability at the accident scene as the victims may use it against you in court. Instead, contact your attorney or hire one if you have none.
Your attorney will analyze your claim and help you build a defense if the matter proceeds to trial. Your insurance company will pay for the claim as long as you are insured. If the victims are amenable to settlement, a Lithonia Uber accident attorney will handle the necessary negotiations.
