Injuries that Can Happen at Marriott Hotels

There is a wide range of injuries that can happen during slip and fall accidents at hotels. While many slip and fall injuries are fairly minor, some can be life-changing, debilitating, or disabling.

Slip and fall injuries we have seen in Georgia include:

• Cuts and scrapes
• Broken bones
• Concussions and other types of head trauma
• Strains and sprains
• Spinal cord injuries
• And more

Slip and fall accidents can happen due to spilled liquids, icy walkways, certain equipment, bathroom leaks, hazards around swimming pools, and more. Hotels and resorts that have gift shops and restaurants will have additional potential hazards. Certain unsafe surfaces, such as concrete around pools, can make slip and fall injuries more serious too.

There are many places hotel staff should be careful to check and maintain to prevent injury accidents. When employees are not careful enough, it means they have been negligent. Negligence is the biggest determining factor in a slip and fall case. In Georgia, the victim has a right to seek compensation from the at-fault or negligent party in their injury accident (Georgia Code § 51-1-6).

You’ll typically want to first file an insurance claim to seek compensation for your damages from the Marriott hotel accident. If you cannot get a fair settlement from your claim, you might be able to pursue a lawsuit against the hotel. An injury lawyer for slip and fall accidents at Marriott can help determine the best course of action for you.

Damages You Can Recover in a Slip and Fall Case Against Marriott

If the hotel was negligent in your accident, they are legally liable for your damages like:

• Medical bills
• Prescription medications
• Physical therapy
• Future medical care
• Lost income
• Loss of enjoyment of life and other pain and suffering

To make sure you are pursuing compensation for all of these damages, you’ll need to gather evidence. This includes copies of medical bills, doctor notes, pay stubs, and tax returns. Your lawyer can help you compiled additional evidence to help prove your case.

Slip and Fall Accidents that Happen While You’re Away from Home

Slip and fall accidents that happen at hotels are unique because they often happen when someone is outside of their home town or state. When your injuries happen in a different state than you live, it can make your case extra challenging. You might wonder if you can still get medical treatment and other help while you’re away from home.

Speaking with a Georgia slip and fall lawyer will get you all the answers you need. They can advise you on the best options and how to begin seeking the recovery you deserve, even if you live somewhere other than the location where you were staying.
