Don’t Wait to File Your Uber Accident Claim
The Official Code of Georgia Annotated (OCGA) § 9-3-33 gives you just two years to file your claim. Keep in mind that this is just the general statute of limitations. There could be factors surrounding your case that significantly shorten the amount of time you have to file your claim. Once you pass the deadline, there is little you can do to get the compensation you need.
One of the best things you can do after receiving medical treatment is to get help from one of our Uber accident lawyers in Woodstock, GA, as soon as possible. You don’t have to blindly file your claim on your own. Instead, get the legal assistance you need to ensure that you receive the maximum settlement possible for your claim.
Hiring a Lawyer Is Important for Uber Accidents
Uber accidents are rarely ever straightforward. There are many things you’ll have to navigate when filing a claim such as negotiating for your settlement and building a strong case to support your demands for compensation.
Our Woodstock Uber accident lawyers can assist in various ways. We will:
- Gather evidence for your claim
- Represent your best interests during negotiations and at trial
- Review all offers made by the insurance company to ensure they appropriately reflect your damages
- Consult with experts in various fields for their supporting testimony in favor of your claim
- Handle all your internal and external communications with other parties
In addition, we will calculate all your damages accurately and ensure that nothing gets left out. We won’t let Uber or their insurance company try to downplay how much your damages are worth. We will always fight for your right to a fair settlement.
Get Compensation for Your Uber Accident Damages
When it comes to Uber accidents, there are two main types of damages that you can sustain. You can rest easy knowing that we will factor both of them into your final settlement total.
Economic Damages
Economic damages refer to the damages you sustain that have fixed monetary values. In other words, these damages don’t fluctuate in price and often have easily identifiable ways of getting valued. Some examples of economic damages include:
- Lost wages or reduced earning capability
- Vehicle repairs or replacements
- Property damages
- Medical expenses such as prescriptions, hospital stays, medical equipment, ER visits, clinic visits, and specialist visits
All these damages can get calculated through your bills, invoices, and receipts. Be sure to keep them safe, as it makes it much easier for our lawyers to account for your economic losses this way.
Non-Economic Damages
Non-economic damages are the opposite of economic damages. They don’t have fixed monetary values and require additional work and calculations to accurately determine how much they’re worth. Non-economic damages typically consist of:
- Loss of consortium
- Loss of enjoyment of life
- Pain and suffering
- Mental anguish and emotional trauma
- Wrongful death or loss of a loved one
- Disability or disfigurement from your accident
There’s no universal standard to how much something like pain and suffering should be worth. Our lawyers use various formulas to figure out how much your non-economic damages are worth. We hope that with the money we can help you recover from the insurance company, you get the closure and financial means necessary to move forward after your Uber accident.

Distance is no obstacle. We work with clients across the country and make sure every one of them feels taken care of, no matter how far the call travels.
Understanding Comparative Fault for Uber Accidents
Even though you weren’t the one driving the Uber, the modified comparative fault rules outlined in OCGA § 51-12-33 can still apply. What this means is that you must show that you’re less than 50% responsible for your Uber accident or you can’t file a claim to win a settlement from the at-fault party.
This is why it’s critical that you get a lawyer to help you. While you’re injured and recovering from your accident, it’s difficult to collect evidence and prove that you weren’t at fault for what happened. We want you to focus on your recovery and wellbeing while we handle the rest of the legal work required to file and win your claim.
Always Fight for a Fair Settlement After an Uber Accident
Never back down to the insurance company. While large corporations like Uber may seem intimidating to go against on your own, know that you don’t have to face them by yourself. Our Woodstock, GA, Uber accident attorneys are ready to stand by your side and help you fight for a fair settlement.
We urge you to avoid talking to Uber or their insurance adjusters. Anything you say or do can get used against you and weaken your claim.
