Why You Should Get Legal Representation After Your Rideshare Accident
Just because you notify Uber, Lyft, or your auto insurer about a ridesharing crash does not mean you will receive compensation for the harm you have suffered. A Greenwood rideshare accident attorney understands the legal challenges you will face. They position you to recover compensatory damages that line up with your expectations.
Your attorney makes sure you do not have to settle for a lowball settlement. They can negotiate a settlement with an insurer, rideshare company, or other parties. Your lawyer keeps you updated about settlement negotiations. If no agreement is reached, your lawyer can file a lawsuit for you and present your case to a judge or jury.
The team at John Foy & Associates fights for you until you get the money you deserve. We take care of your legal matters while you focus on recovering from your rideshare accident. Speak to us about your ridesharing accident case.
Compensation Available in a Greenwood Rideshare Accident Lawsuit
A rideshare accident lawyer serving Greenwood requests economic and non-economic damages from anyone responsible for your losses. Reasons you could recover one or both types of damages include:
Pain and Suffering
The pain and suffering from your rideshare accident impact you physically, psychologically, and emotionally. You move forward with professional counseling and other care to help you manage these issues. Meanwhile, your attorney can include your pain and suffering losses in your damages request.
Medical Bills
Broken bones, concussions, and whiplash are common injuries reported in ridesharing collisions. You treat your accident injuries but are worried about how you will cover the costs of doing so. Share your medical bills with your attorney and continue to track these expenses. Your lawyer accounts for your current and future medical costs in your lawsuit.
Lost Wages
It can be difficult to work if you are injured in a ridesharing crash. If your injuries are catastrophic, you may be unable to return to your job. Tell your lawyer about your lost wages. Your attorney can highlight your loss of income to a judge or jury.
Car Repair or Replacement Costs
You lose your car because a rideshare driver slams their vehicle into yours. Bring your car to a mechanic and repair or replace your vehicle. Your lawyer considers your auto repair or replacement costs as they craft your argument.
Burial and Funeral Expenses
Sadly, a rideshare accident can be fatal. If a family member dies in a ridesharing collision, you could take legal action on their behalf against any at-fault parties. A wrongful death lawyer is compassionate and empathetic. They can ask for compensation for your late family member’s burial and funeral expenses and other losses while you and your loved ones care for each other.
A rideshare accident attorney serving Greenwood calculates your quantifiable and subjective losses. They also teach you about the burden of proof and why you need evidence to strengthen your case.
Evidence to Use in a Rideshare Accident Lawsuit
In your lawsuit, you say you are in no way to blame for your rideshare accident. The defendant claims otherwise and argues that you are partially or fully responsible for the incident. Your evidence can compel the court to rule in your favor. Proof your attorney could use in your lawsuit includes:
- Accident scene photos
- Witness statements
- Police report
- Rideshare app data
- Traffic camera or dash cam footage
- Medical records
Your attorney wants you to achieve your desired case results. Before your trial, your lawyer examines your evidence and gets ready to contest the defendant’s case. In addition, your attorney describes what will happen when your trial gets underway. When you enter the courtroom, you and your attorney are prepared to share your argument with the court.
