The convenience and affordability of Lyft is making the rideshare service a viable alternative to commuting. However, Lyft can be problematic. There is a risk of a Lyft accident any time someone uses the rideshare service.

Car Crashes Cause Big Problems in Georgia
Thousands of car crashes occur in Georgia annually, and many of these incidents are fatal. In a recent report, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) reported that 1,377 fatal car crashes occurred in Georgia in a given year. It also reported 737 deaths in single-vehicle crashes during the time frame.
Many Georgia car crashes are preventable. For instance, some drivers speed, increasing their risk of an accident. Other drivers may consume drugs or alcohol before they get behind the wheel, which can make them exceedingly prone to accidents.
Carrollton Lyft drivers are susceptible to accidents as well. There are very few requirements to become a Lyft driver. Even if a driver meets these requirements, this individual may inadvertently put their passengers and others in danger.
It Is Easy for Lyft Drivers to Get Distracted
Distracted driving is an issue that impacts motorists across the United States. According to DOT’s most recent data for a 12-month period, 3,142 people were killed in car accidents linked to distracted driving. These fatalities may have been prevented if drivers had been focused exclusively on what is most important: traveling safely.
A Lyft driver may be more likely to get distracted than other motorists. This driver relies on their smartphone to stay up to date on potential fares. If the driver glances down at their phone, this distraction can lead to an accident.
Lyft drivers are often inclined to engage in conversations with their passengers. Doing so helps these drivers increase their ratings, which can lead to future fares. At the same time, focusing on conversations can cause a driver to get distracted and result in an accident.
A Carrollton Lyft Driver Can Be Held Responsible for an Accident
Carrollton Lyft drivers understand the risk they take. They are responsible for their actions behind the wheel. If they pick up a passenger, the driver must do everything in their power to get this individual from point A to point B safely.
It can be tempting for a Lyft driver to skirt the rules. For example, a Lyft driver may speed in the hopes of reaching their passenger’s final destination as quickly as possible. Speeding increases the probability of an accident.
If a Lyft driver is negligent and causes an accident, this individual must be held responsible. At this time, a Lyft accident victim can pursue damages from the driver. To do so, the victim can file a personal injury lawsuit.

How a Carrollton Lyft Accident Lawsuit Works
Do not expect instant results from a Carrollton Lyft accident lawsuit. It often takes months or years before a Lyft accident case is settled. During this time, a victim must work diligently to pursue their legal claim to the fullest extent.
To get started with a lawsuit, it helps to hire a first-rate Lyft accident attorney in Carrollton. This allows a victim to work with a Lyft accident lawyer in Carrollton who knows the ins and outs of Lyft accident cases. The attorney can teach the victim how to navigate the legal process and achieve optimal results.
A Carrollton Lyft accident lawyer will work on behalf of their client. The attorney learns about their client’s Lyft accident and determines how to present this individual’s argument to a judge or jury. If the attorney is successful, the client can be awarded financial compensation.
A Carrollton Lyft Accident Victim Can Receive Thousands of Dollars in Damages
In Georgia, there are no restrictions on the amount of damages an individual can pursue in a personal injury case. This means a Carrollton Lyft accident victim can request tens of thousands of dollars in damages. Yet doing so is not necessarily the best course of action in every Lyft accident case.
Ultimately, a Lyft accident victim’s attorney can help this individual figure out an appropriate amount to pursue in damages. The lawyer will request information about any medical bills and lost wages a victim suffered as a result of their accident and any associated injuries. Also, the attorney will find out if the victim experienced any emotional trauma from the accident.
A Lyft accident attorney can file a lawsuit and help their client earn the maximum compensation amount. Comparatively, the lawyer can negotiate with the at-fault party’s attorney. If the at-fault party submits a suitable settlement offer, the case can be resolved out of court.
