What Should You Do if You Get into a Postmates Accident?
Resist the urge to yell, scream, and get angry at the other driver involved in your accident, even if you believe they are liable. Doing these things can hurt your chances of securing compensation for your accident-related losses. Here are tips to help you get through your accident without compromising your case against the at-fault motorist:
- Call the police. Dial 911, and police officers will arrive at the scene, get information from you, and prepare a report detailing your accident.
- Seek medical care. Do not attempt to “tough it out,” and instead, go to a hospital so doctors can evaluate and treat your injuries.
- Take photos and videos. Snap photos and videos of the scene and your injuries, as this will give you evidence that will help you show a judge or jury what happened.
- Get the other driver’s information. Ask the motorist for their insurance, driver’s license, and contact information so you can submit a claim.
- Notify your insurance company. Tell your insurer about your accident, and the company will investigate.

How Much Is Your Macon Postmates Accident Lawsuit Worth?
Meet with a Postmates accident lawyer serving Macon, GA, to find out how much your lawsuit is worth. Your lawyer can teach you about economic and non-economic damages you can recover. Damages you may receive in your lawsuit include:
Car Repairs or Replacement
You need your car to travel to and from work, pick up your kids from school, and complete other everyday tasks. Yet, a Postmates accident leaves you without your car. Fortunately, a personal injury lawyer in Macon can help you collect damages to cover your car repair or replacement costs.
Medical Bills
In one of the worst-case scenarios, a Postmates accident injury will affect you for the rest of your life. Your medical bills are significant, and you have no idea how you will pay them. At this point, a catastrophic injury lawyer in Macon can use your doctor’s notes and other proof to show a judge or jury that you deserve compensation for your medical bills.
Lost Income
It is possible to sue for lost wages after a car accident. Following your Postmates accident, your lawyer will consider your current and future lost wages. They will use your pay stubs and similar evidence to highlight how much money you are losing since you are unable to work.
Loss of Enjoyment
In the past, you spent time outdoors, played sports, and did many other fun things. Now, you cannot do these things because of your injury. If you are struggling with the loss of enjoyment, let a Postmates accident attorney serving Macon, GA, assist you, and they can seek damages for this and other subjective losses.
Your lawyer calculates your damages and builds an argument to explain to a judge or jury why you should be awarded 100% of the compensation you are requesting. If your attorney is successful, a judge or jury will award full damages. Alternatively, the defendant in your case could propose a settlement, which you can evaluate with your lawyer.
How Much Time Do You Have to File a Postmates Accident Lawsuit?
In many cases, the statute of limitations for a personal injury lawsuit is two years. After a Postmates accident, you could have up to two years to ask for damages from a liable party. Once this window closes, you will be solely responsible for your accident-related losses.
You could get compensation through an auto insurance claim. Postmates drivers receive liability and auto excess coverage from their employer. If a driver is making a delivery for Postmates and causes an accident, you may request compensation from their employer’s insurance policy.
Getting damages through an insurance claim can be difficult. An insurer may contest your claim or offer a settlement that is far less than what your case is actually worth. Work with a lawyer, and they can negotiate with an insurance provider on your behalf.
