How a Bicycle Accident Lawyer in Lithonia Can Help You Build a Strong Case

Brain injuries, nerve damage, neck injuries, and spinal cord injuries will disrupt your life. These are common bicycle accident injuries that will take time to recover from and could mean permanent damage. When you hire an experienced Lithonia bicycle accident lawyer from John Foy & Associates, we will handle some of the following on your behalf:

• Secure accident reports and investigate the accident
• Obtain your medical records to ensure we do not file your claim too early
• Negotiate on your behalf with the insurance company
• Be prepared to take your case to court if negotiations fail

While not every personal injury claim case winds up going to court, you want to be prepared for that possibility. The best way to do that is to make sure you hire a Lithonia bicycle accident lawyer as soon as possible after your injury.

Understanding Bicycle Accident Injury Damages

When you have suffered an injury, there are certain types of damage that you can seek. Some areas of compensation include:

• Medical bills current and future
• Damage to your bicycle
• Lost wages current and future
• Pain and suffering
• Rehabilitation costs
• Other expenses related to your injury

It is important to remember that if you file a claim on your own, the insurance company will not tell you what compensation you may be entitled to collect. They are in business to make money; they are not there to protect you. Contacting a Lithonia bicycle accident lawyer may help you get the maximum compensation for your injury.

Avoiding Statute of Limitations Issues Following a Bicycle Accident

After an accident, you have to show who was at fault for the accident which caused your injury. In addition, you only have two years per Georgia Code, §9-3-33 (2017), to file a claim for your injuries.

Two years sounds like a long time. The reality is that you do not want to file a claim until your physician tells you that any future treatment will not result in your physical condition improving. You will file a settlement demand at that point, and negotiations will begin. However, negotiating is not as easy as it sounds, and the insurer will take every action possible to minimize your claim.

Costs of Hiring a Lithonia Bicycle Accident Lawyer

One of the primary concerns for a bicycle accident victim is going further into debt. While you are recovering from your injuries, chances are you are watching every penny you spend. This is understandable since you have no clear indication of when you may be able to return to work.

Here is what you can expect when you contact a Lithonia bicycle accident lawyer from John Foy & Associates:

• We offer a free consultation — During your free consultation, we will advise you of the strength of your case and help you understand the process we will follow to get a settlement on your behalf.
• We work on a contingency fee basis — If we are not successful in obtaining a settlement on your behalf, you will not be paying any legal fees.
• We understand Georgia laws — We have a firm understanding of all aspects of personal injury law. We also know exactly how to analyze Georgia motor vehicle crash report codes, so we know what the report tells us about fault for an accident.

We will work tirelessly to secure the compensation you deserve for your injuries.
