What to Know About Wingstop Stores in Georgia

Wingstop started in Garland, Texas, in 1994. They began opening franchise locations in 1997 and have since grown to over 1,250 restaurants throughout the United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, and more. You’d be hard-pressed to find much to hate about tasty wings and hand-cut fries—unless you are injured because employees weren’t careful enough.

In Georgia, businesses like Wingstop must be very careful to maintain safe premises for all customers. That includes keeping things clean and regularly checking for potential hazards to be cleaned up. If employees are not diligent enough and someone gets hurt as a result, the business can be liable for the damages.

You should not have to pay for a store’s carelessness. If you were hurt in a Wingstop, a slip and fall injury lawyer can examine the details of your case and determine whether or not the store is liable for your damages.

Steps to Take After a Slip and Fall Accident at Wingstop in Georgia

Everything you do after a slip and fall accident can potentially help build your case. You will want to document what happened as fully as possible and keep track of your damages. Here are some of the best ways to do that.

Get Medical Treatment

Your number one priority after any type of injury accident in Georgia should be getting medical attention. If you have injuries that are very serious or life-threatening, do not delay getting medical treatment. Otherwise, if you are able to stay at the scene long enough to gather information, make sure you see a doctor as soon as possible after you leave Wingstop.

Seeing a doctor soon after your accident creates a record of your injuries and shows that you are actively seeking treatment. Remember that your slip and fall injury claim will be filed with the store’s insurance company—and insurance companies do not like to pay much on injury claims.

If the insurance company sees that you waited to get medical attention, they might use it to say your injuries weren’t as serious as you’re saying they are. They might use this as an excuse to offer you a lower settlement. So, make sure you see a doctor soon and are active in the treatment of your injuries.

Document the Scene

Slip and fall accident scenes can often be cleaned up quickly afterward. To preserve the scene as it was right after your fall, take pictures of the scene, the hazard that caused your fall, and your injuries.

Also, talk to any witnesses and get their contact information. You might need statements from them later.

Report the Slip and Fall Accident

Make sure the Wingstop location where you fell knows about your accident. Ask to see a manager, tell them what happened, and get their contact information.

Keep Track of All Damages

Save all medical bills, pictures, receipts, and other evidence of your costs. You’ll need to include these as evidence in your insurance claim. An experienced slip and fall injury lawyer can help make sure you are including everything you need to in your case.

Talk to a Wingstop Slip and Fall Injury Lawyer

It’s best to reach out to a lawyer as soon as you can after your accident. They can start working on your case immediately. A slip and fall attorney can also provide the expertise needed to negotiate with the insurance company and seek a fair settlement for your damages.

What If You Were Partially at Fault for Your Wingstop Slip and Fall Injury?

After your injury, you might worry that you were partially or fully to blame. Before you assume one way or the other, talk to a lawyer. Many times, people don’t fall for no reason—and the store is more liable than you realize.

The above being said, if you do end up being partially negligent in your slip and fall accident, you may still have options. Under Georgia Code section 51-12-33, you can seek still compensation if you are less than 50% at fault for the injury accident. Talk to a lawyer about the details—before talking to the insurance company or trying to debate with anyone from the store—so you can determine where fault and liability truly lies.
