If you’ve suffered an injury in a car accident in Dawsonville you need to speak to a lawyer. Even a minor car accident injury can end up having life-changing consequences—including severe ongoing pain, difficulty returning to work, or suffering a disability.
Car accident victims often don’t realize how expensive their injuries will be until much later, sometimes after they have already accepted a small insurance payment. Don’t allow yourself to be stuck with medical bills worth tens of thousands of dollars or more. A Dawsonville personal injury lawyer can help you.
At John Foy & Associates we have over 20 years of experience winning car accident cases. We understand the pain, stress and financial stress a car accident can cause. That’s why we work exclusively to represent the victims of injuries—never the big insurance companies.

Do I Really Need a Dawsonville Car Accident Lawyer?
It depends. There are some cases where injuries truly are minor and have no complications down the road. The problem is, it’s very hard for you as the accident victim to know this up front. Typically, we see the insurance company rush to offer you a small amount of money, which may be tempting when they first offer it. But to accept this money, you have to sign away your rights. You have to agree not to ask for any more later.
This can be catastrophic if the initial treatment turns out not to improve your pain, or if doctors later find more serious complications. We have spoken to countless car accident victims who got the correct diagnosis only after they signed away their insurance claim. A good lawyer could have helped them if they had gotten a legal opinion sooner.
At John Foy & Associates, our goal with every accident victim is to first find out the full extent of your injuries. This can mean getting you in front of a specialist or forcing the insurance company to pay for all estimated future care, not just what’s already been done. Our goal is to get you back to the maximum possible health after your injury, and to get your expenses 100% paid for.
The Insurance Company Is Already Offering Me Money. What Should I Do?
Do not take it until you talk to a lawyer. Remember, the insurance company is not your friend; they are a business. Their only goal is to pay you the lowest amount possible and close your claim. If they’re already offering you money, it means one of two things:
- They want to tempt you into taking the first, smallest offer they can make, or
- They think you have a stronger claim and they’re hoping you don’t know it.
Sometimes insurance companies will use even more underhanded tactics. Some of the examples we have seen include:
- Taking months to process your claim or get you an answer, knowing you’re in pain
- Calling to ask how you’re doing and then using your answers against you
- Asking you confusing or leading questions to get you to say something you shouldn’t
- Blaming you for the car accident, even when it wasn’t your fault
Insurance companies know the law and they have a legal team helping them win. It’s very difficult to take on an insurance company and win without professional legal help.
What Costs Can I Recover in a Car Accident Claim in Dawsonville?

If you suffered a disability or other serious loss, you may also be eligible for a substantial cash recovery to offset its impact on your life.

Will I Have to Go to Court for a Dawsonville Car Accident Claim?
In some cases a car accident claim will go all the way to the local courts. When this happens, we will be at your side and handle everything for you. Our goal is to make the court process as easy and stress-free as possible.
However, it’s much more common for your claim to settle out of court, without ever going to trial. This is our goal for every case. From the moment you first sit down with us, we begin assembling evidence and building the strongest case possible.
We prove exactly how much you need to recover your losses. Then we pressure the insurance company to agree to the full amount without the hassle of a trial. In many cases they say yes.
Is There a Deadline to File My Car Accident Claim in Dawsonville?
Yes. Courts in the City of Dawsonville follow deadlines set by state and federal law. These deadlines give strict limits for how much time you can take to file your claim. In some cases you may have up to two years; in others it may be a matter of weeks. If you miss the deadline you could lose your right to claim any money. This is why you need to speak to a lawyer as early after your accident as possible.
How Much does It Cost to Hire a Car Accident Lawyer in Dawsonville?
We don’t believe you should have to pay anything out of pocket to get a lawyer. We are familiar with law firms that charge up front frees, meaning they get paid whether they win or lose. We don’t agree with this practice as we don’t think it’s in your best interests.
Instead, we offer a very simple fee structure
- You pay us nothing for any consultation
- You pay us nothing out of pocket
- You pay us nothing, ever, unless we win you money
We believe this is the fairest and lowest-risk way to offer our services.
