The popularity of food delivery services like Grubhub has led to an increase in traffic incidents involving their drivers. If you’ve been in an accident with a Grubhub driver and want to know your legal options, it’s time to talk with our Columbus Grubhub accident lawyers.
John Foy & Associates will cut through the red tape to help you seek compensation for your injuries. Food delivery accidents often involve complicated insurance issues. Many drivers for these services lack commercial insurance, and the company may not cover accidents.
Consult with a Columbus food delivery car accident lawyer immediately after your accident. You might be left responsible for your injuries and other damages without proper legal guidance. Here’s how the Strong Arm can help you win your accident case.
Insurance Complications in Grubhub Accidents
Grubhub does not provide commercial car insurance coverage to its drivers. Instead, drivers are expected to have their own insurance coverage before working with Grubhub. This policy can create significant complications for accident victims.
Driving for Grubhub is considered a commercial activity, requiring insurance that differs from standard personal auto insurance. If an insurance company discovers its policyholder was driving commercially without proper coverage, it could deny the claim.
However, don’t lose hope. Our car accident lawyers in Columbus, GA, can assess your options. The driver may have assets that could compensate you, or there may be provisions in your own insurance that could cover some of your damages.
Unique Factors in Columbus Grubhub Accidents
While many Grubhub accidents share similarities with typical car accidents, several factors are specific to food delivery services:
- App-based distractions: Drivers frequently interact with the Grubhub app while driving, leading to dangerous distractions.
- Unfamiliarity with local routes: Delivery drivers often navigate unfamiliar areas in Columbus, potentially leading to sudden stops or erratic driving.
- Pressure to meet delivery times: The need for speedy deliveries can result in risky driving behaviors, especially in busy Columbus neighborhoods.
Our Columbus personal injury lawyers have to show that the Grubhub driver was negligent before you can win compensation in your case. We’ll identify the responsible parties and which insurance policies should cover your damages. Then, we’ll fight tirelessly to secure the maximum compensation possible for you.
