Why Should I Contact One of Your Moving Van Accident Lawyers?
Our moving van accident attorneys can help you in several different ways. We do more than just give you legal advice. We can make the critical difference between getting a low settlement and the one you truly deserve.
Gathering and Organizing Critical Evidence
When an accident occurs, you will need to collect evidence that allows you to prove your damages in court or during negotiations. Remember, the state operates under the comparative fault rule outlined in the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (OCGA) §51-12-33. This means that you need to show that you were less than 50% responsible for your accident or else you won’t be able to file a claim.
Even though the law in Georgia entitles you to file a claim, that doesn’t give you any guarantee you’ll win a settlement. Winning a settlement is much more than just filing paperwork. You need to collect evidence that supports your claim. Our attorneys can help you get and organize all of the evidence related to your accident so you can win compensation easier.
Handling All Communications for You
After an accident, there is a high chance that an insurance adjuster will come to talk to you regarding your accident. You shouldn’t ever speak to anyone from the insurance company unless you have legal representation first. The reason why they’re trying to speak to you is to get you to incriminate yourself for the accident or trick you into admitting fault.
Our moving van accident attorneys will handle all of your communications for you. This isn’t to silence you; it’s to ensure that your words, writings, or actions don’t negatively impact your chances of receiving compensation.
Consulting with Experts
We can consult with various experts to provide supporting testimony to your claim. For example, moving van accidents can often happen so suddenly that it becomes hard to tell who was indeed at fault. We can request the help of an accident reconstruction expert that utilizes forensic science to determine how exactly your accident went down.
The testimony an expert can provide can make the difference between a weak case and a strong one. When you retain one of our attorneys, we will strengthen your claim significantly by working with several experts in various fields.
When Should I Contact an Attorney for My Moving Van Accident?
You should contact an attorney as soon as possible. Moving van accident claims are extremely time-sensitive, so the longer you wait, the harder it becomes to win your settlement. Key evidence that supports your claim isn’t going to last forever, so it’s essential that you get strong legal representation quickly.
The statute of limitations in Georgia only gives you two years to file your claim from the date of your accident. Two years is plenty of time to get started, but only if you start early. Waiting until the last minute to file your claim will only reduce your chances of getting adequately compensated for your damages.
