If you’re injured while working at Food Lion, you should immediately report the incident to your manager, get medical treatment, and reach out to an attorney for help with your workers’ compensation claim.
Taking the right steps after a workplace accident can ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve. An Atlanta Food Lion workers’ compensation lawyer can guide you through the legal process and give you step-by-step instructions about handling your claim.
Report Your Injury After an Accident at Food Lion
You need to immediately notify your employer if you get hurt during a shift at Food Lion. Notifying your employer should generate an official report about what happened, making it harder for the company to try to deny your accident or the extent of your losses.
When you tell your employer about what happened, you should request a copy of the accident report it creates. Getting a copy of this report can further support your workers’ comp claim.
If you wait to notify your employer, they could try to claim that your injuries happened outside of work, so it’s crucial that you do not hesitate or delay in taking this step.
Get Medical Care After Your On-the-Job Accident
You should seek prompt medical attention if you get hurt working at a Food Lion. Getting medical care can link your injuries to the workplace accident, and it improves your chances of fully recovering from the incident.
Note that, in order to qualify for workers’ compensation, you may need to visit a specific doctor approved by your employer. It’s crucial that you follow any regulations set by the workers’ comp system to ensure that you have a stronger chance of getting the benefits you need throughout your recovery.
