Rear-end collisions are accidents that occur when one car or truck collides, hits, or strikes the rear of a car or truck. These often occur when one car is sitting at an intersection, and the other vehicle travels too quickly towards the rear of the car. A Rome car accident lawyer from John Foy & Associates can help you recover compensation for your injuries.
How do Rear-End Collisions Occur?
These accidents can also occur when two cars are moving, and the first car comes to a sudden stop. The driver who is traveling too close to the front car will hit the car and could potentially cause a chain-reaction car accident. A chain-reaction crash occurs when the following vehicles behind the second car all crash when unable to stop.
It is essential to have help from the Rome rear-end collision lawyers at John Foy & Associates. Rear-end collisions are brutal to sort out and even more so if multiple drivers and passengers are involved. Rome rear-ends collision lawyers review the accident situation, determine if there are any available defenses if you are the driver of the rear vehicle, and help you obtain compensation for additional injuries or losses. Our attorneys can assist victims in filing a claim, guide them through the process, and professionally represent them anytime in court.

What a Rear-End Collision Attorney in Rome Can Do for You
It is especially crucial to hire a Rome rear-end collision attorney if you or a loved one suffer from serious injuries. Serious injuries are also brutal injuries and include severe burns and brain or spinal trauma.
We know some individuals decide to handle their insurance or legal claims independently. This may not be the best course of action, though. When you hire a Rome rear-end collision lawyer, they take all minor collisions that don’t necessarily result in severe or permanent injury, bruising or minor contusions and muscle strain during the crash.
We know it is tempting to handle specific issues alone, but we advise against it. Soft injuries can lead to more severe problems down the road.
We always recommend consulting with an auto accident lawyer after a rear-end collision. There is no reason to go at it alone when you can have an attorney by your side every step of the way fighting for every penny you deserve. Don’t hesitate to contact John Foy & Associates today if you have a case due to a rear-end collision. Time is of the essence, and you can’t afford any possible long-term consequences of the accident.

How a Rear-End Collision Claim Works
If you want to receive compensation after a rear-end collision, you must prove the other driver is at fault. You must also justify the number of your damages. It is easy to assume the driver who hit you from behind is automatically responsible, but insurance companies make you prove it. You may also need to prove that you share no blame for the accident.
These types of claims begin by acting fast after a rear-end collision. Injured parties are to call 911 for help and formal documentation. Then, gathering evidence is critical. You can do this by taking pictures of the scene plus any injuries you sustain or damages to property.
The key to filing an injury claim is to notify your insurance company and the at-fault driver’s insurance company right after the accident.
Vehicle damage claims are separate and often resolve faster than injury claims.
If you have collision coverage, you may have the option to have your vehicle damage go through your own insurance company. The insurance company will seek reimbursement from the at-fault driver’s insurance carrier.
Common Rear-End Collision Cases We Handle
The injuries we see as a result of rear-end collisions include:
- Whiplash
- Back injuries
- Head and brain injuries
- Broken bones
Whiplash is a type of neck injury that refers to soft-tissue damage from the head and neck whipping around rapidly. Back injuries can occur relatively quickly in a vehicle accident. Since the back consists of many small, sensitive components, any trauma to this area can lead to severe injuries.
When the head strikes an object inside the vehicle during a rear-end collision, the impact can cause skull fractures, bruising or contusions, concussions, or traumatic brain injuries. These injuries cause pain, immobility, and even long-term disability. Broken bones in a rear-end collision result from the victim’s body crashing into objects within the vehicle. Too much pressure on a bone can naturally break or crack whenever there is too much pressure.
