Tesla’s self-driving system can cause accidents. In fact, the electric car company’s self-driving system has been responsible for several auto accidents, some of which resulted in fatalities. If you’ve been injured in an accident caused by a Tesla’s faulty self-driving system, you’re probably in pain and unsure how to get compensation for your medical bills and other losses.
An Atlanta Tesla accident lawyer can review your case and determine if you have grounds for a claim. If successful, your claim could yield compensation to cover your financial losses and help you cope with any intangible struggles you’ve faced due to the accident. Let’s take a closer look at how Tesla’s self-driving system can cause crashes and how an attorney can help you.
Evidence Shows That Tesla’s Self-Driving System Can Cause Accidents
Federal investigations show that Tesla’s self-driving system can cause accidents. According to an article on Tesla vehicles’ self-driving features, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is currently investigating the “Full Self-Driving” (FSD) system after at least four crashes.
Tesla has also recalled the FSD system twice, as it has reportedly caused drivers to roll through stop signs and disobey traffic laws. Critics argue that Tesla’s reliance on cameras that don’t include radar or lidar makes the system less capable of detecting hazards, especially in poor visibility.
These reports support growing concerns that Tesla’s self-driving features are not yet safe enough to operate without close human supervision. If you’ve been in an accident you believe was caused by Tesla’s self-driving system, you’ll want to speak to an attorney about pursuing compensation for your injuries and losses.
Types of Accidents Tesla’s Self-Driving System May Cause
When Tesla’s self-driving system exhibits safety issues, many different types of accidents can occur. Luckily, if you’ve been injured in a collision caused by Tesla’s self-driving feature, you may be able to seek damages. An attorney can help you file a claim if you’ve been involved in one of the following types of incidents:
- Rear-end collisions
- Crashes with parked vehicles
- Pedestrian accidents
- Collisions in low-visibility conditions
- Lane departure accidents
- Wrong-way driving incidents
- Side-swipe accidents during lane changes
If you’ve been hurt in one of the above-listed accidents due to a faulty self-driving system, don’t hesitate to reach out to an attorney. An experienced lawyer can advise you on whether Tesla’s self-driving system can cause accidents and work tirelessly to obtain the compensation you deserve.
