Speeding Is Commonplace Throughout the U.S.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states that a third of all motor vehicle fatalities involved a speeding driver for more than two decades. Speeding accidents are widespread, and the attorneys here at John Foy & Associates know precisely how to handle these types of cases.
Navigating Through Negligence and Comparative Fault Laws
Here in Georgia, car accidents fall under comparative fault laws. These laws allow for the person who was the least responsible for the accident to file compensation at the negligent party’s expense. As long as you aren’t more than 50% responsible for your accident, you can file a claim.
Remember that whatever percentage you get found responsible for comes out of your final settlement. It is in your best interest to ensure that you are found totally innocent or only slightly responsible. The higher your percentage is, the more you will end up losing in your settlement.
Even though speeding is a crime and the person who caused your accident is guilty, the burden of proof still exists on your end to show that their negligence caused your damages. Without it, you can’t receive compensation. Our speeding accident lawyers in Warner Robins can help you go through the process and fight for your claim properly.
A Lawyer Is Essential for Your Speeding Accident
After your speeding accident, you should seek the assistance of a lawyer as soon as possible. The faster you get professional legal assistance, the quicker you can start building a strong case for your claim.
Gathering Critical Evidence
No claim can be proven without evidence backing it. If you submit a claim with nothing to show for it, then you will most definitely lose your chance for compensation. The more evidence you have, the stronger your case will be during negotiations.
Our lawyers can help you gather key evidence such as:
- Police and medical records
- Witness testimonies
- Surveillance footage
- Photographic evidence
Evidence doesn’t last forever and can be extremely time-sensitive. The longer you wait, the harder it will be down the line to prove your claim.
Retaining Experts
Our speeding accident lawyers can consult with experts in various fields to help prove the merits of your accident. Accident reconstruction experts and medical experts can provide testimony to prove to the insurance company and the jury that your damages are legitimate and your accident was at no fault of your own.
Our experts are data and science-driven. Expert testimony can make the difference between an okay case and a solid one.
Filing Your Claim at the Best Time Possible
Many people wrongfully assume that you need to file your claim as soon as possible, right after an accident. On the flip side, many also assume that they have all the time in the world since the statute of limitations for car accident claims in Georgia is two years. The best time to file is when:
- You have finished all of your medical treatment.
- All of your damages get accurately accounted for.
- You have strong evidence to back your claim.
Our attorneys will help you figure out the best time for you to file. Every case is different, so we will take great care to understand the specifics of your accident to make sure that your claim gets filed at the right time.

How Much Do Your Speeding Accident Lawyers Charge?
You may wonder how much lawyers charge for their services. The truth is that legal fees will always vary depending on the type of case and how much work is involved. John Foy & Associates has never and will never engage in any sort of shady or predatory practices against you.
Many untrustworthy law firms seek to exploit you after an accident simply to collect a paycheck at your expense. We do the exact opposite. Our fees are on a contingency basis, which means that you only pay us if we win you compensation.
If we don’t win you any compensation, you pay us absolutely nothing. There are no hidden or upfront fees whatsoever, and all of our pricing is completely transparent. Insurance companies like to scare speeding accident victims by claiming that lawyers are only out to steal your settlement away from you, but the reality is they don’t want you to retain a lawyer because that makes it harder for them to trick you into accepting a settlement below what you deserve.
