Am I Eligible to File an American Airlines Workers’ Comp Claim in Georgia?

If you’ve been injured while working for American Airlines, you might be wondering if you’re eligible to file a claim for compensation. Fortunately, state workers’ comp law requires all businesses with over five employees to carry workers’ comp insurance.

Workers’ comp insurance can be used to cover injured workers’ medical bills and other losses. According to the law, your workers’ comp coverage goes into effect on your first day on the job. As long as the accident you were hurt in happened while you were working, you should be able to file a claim.

An attorney can help you file a claim if you are an American Airlines worker employed in any of the following capacities:

• Flight attendants
• Ground or airport station attendants
• Baggage handlers
• Mechanic
• Pilot
• And others

No position is too small to be covered by the company’s workers’ comp insurance. Whether you are a pilot or baggage handler, you have the same right to compensation after an injury. If you’ve been hurt on the job, don’t hesitate to reach out to a lawyer and pursue the benefits you deserve.

Workers’ Comp Benefits You Could Obtain After an American Airline’s Injury in Georgia

When you hire an attorney to pursue workers’ comp benefits, they’ll assess your circumstances and determine which benefits you need to address your injuries and other challenges. Based on your unique situation and injuries, your lawyer will file a Georgia American Airlines workers’ compensation claim for several or more of the following benefits:

Medical Benefits

The medical benefits you receive from a claim can pay for any medical treatments and medications you need to address your injuries. No matter how serious your injuries are or how extensive your treatment program is, a lawyer will be able to pursue benefits to pay for the following forms of medical care:

Weekly Wage Payments

If your injury has stopped you from going to work, you might be struggling to pay rent and cover other necessary expenses. The good news is that a claim can provide weekly, tax-exempt payments equal to two-thirds of your normal wage.

Disability Benefits

Sometimes, workplace accident victims are left with long-term conditions and disabilities that make it hard for them to return to work and complete basic tasks. Luckily, a successful Georgia American Airlines workers’ compensation claim can provide the money you need to manage your disability and support yourself while you are out of work.

Death Benefits

If your family member has passed away after suffering severe injuries in a United Airlines incident, a Georgia workers’ compensation lawyer can pursue death benefits on your behalf. While no amount of money can make up for the tragic loss you’ve suffered, these benefits can help you cover funeral expenses and offer weekly payments to replace lost income.

Types of Accidents You Can File an American Airlines Workers’ Comp Claim for

While OSHA’s industry standards are put in place to prevent airline work accidents, the rules aren’t always followed. When safety standards are ignored, and errors are made, a number of dangerous scenarios can play out.

You’ll want to talk to a workers’ comp attorney in Georgia about filing a claim if you’ve been injured in one of the following incidents while working for American Airlines:

• Slip and fall
• In-flight turbulence injuries
• Ground vehicle collisions
• Exposure to hazardous materials
• Equipment malfunctions
• Fires and explosions
• Fall from heights
• Baggage handling injuries
• Electrical shocks
• Airport security incidents
• Loading and unloading accidents
• And more

These are just a few of the types of accidents you might experience while working at an airline. If you’ve been hurt in one of these incidents or another dangerous on-the-job accident, you’ll want to reach out to a trusted attorney today. The sooner you hire a lawyer, the more likely you’ll be able to recover life-changing benefits.

Statute of Limitations for Workers’ Compensation Claims

If you’ve been hurt in a work accident while working for an airline, you must abide by Georgia’s statute of limitations for workers’ compensation claims. According to the statute, you have one year from the date of the accident to submit a claim.

If you don’t file within that period of time, you could be denied the benefits you need to cover medical costs, replace lost wages, manage your disability, or deal with the loss of a loved one. Instead of missing out on helpful compensation, reach out to an attorney today and get started on your claim.
