- Legal experience: Cruise ship cases are complex. We understand the relevant laws and how to seek the compensation you need.
- Accident investigation: We can research the events surrounding your accident, including how Princess responded to it, to determine who is liable for your injuries.
- Compensation assessment: We will review your economic and non-economic damages and calculate a maximum compensation amount.
- Insurance company negotiations: We’ll handle the insurance companies, including negotiations for a fair settlement that helps you pay the expenses you’ve incurred from your injuries.
Who Is Liable for Princess Cruise Ship Injuries?
We will investigate your accident and injury to determine who was at fault. This isn’t as simple as on home soil; it can depend on your cruise documentation, including any waivers you signed, as well as local laws in ports of call and specifics of maritime law.
Our Princess Cruises injury attorneys will work to find out who is liable, which may include:
Princess Cruises
Some of the signs that Princess Cruises may have neglected their duty of care are if:
- They failed to implement proper safety precautions during rough seas or inclement weather
- Staff were not properly trained and did not present the correct direction during activities
- Medical facilities were not equipped to handle basic injuries and health problems
- Staff did not place proper signage or warn passengers of dangers during cleaning or maintenance
- Staff failed to respond to a medical emergency.
Your Princess Cruises injury lawyer can review your case and find out if Princess Cruises could be liable for your injuries.
Shore Excursion Companies
If you choose to participate in a shore excursion and you are injured, liability may fall on one or more parties. Shore excursions are often run by third-party companies, usually sanctioned by the cruise line.
In some cases, passengers book their shore excursions with independent companies. One of these companies could be liable for your injuries, either on their own or in conjunction with Princess.
Other Passengers
Negative passenger interactions happen on cruise ships, from innocent accidents to outright assaults. If your injury happened due to the actions of another passenger, they may be held liable for your injuries.
Local Businesses or Property Owners
Exploring new places is part of the fun of cruising, and some passengers like to travel far off the beaten path when they are in port. If you get hurt while at a local bar, restaurant, or attraction, local laws may determine who is liable for your injuries.
How Much Is a Princess Cruise Injury Case Worth?
It is impossible to determine the value of your case without a complete evaluation of your damages. Every situation is different, and your compensation could be thousands of dollars, hundreds of thousands, or even millions.
Your Princess Cruises cruise ship injury lawyer can assess your damages and calculate a maximum compensation amount. We’ll then negotiate for a fair settlement that covers your economic and possibly non-economic damages.
Economic Damages
Economic damages consider expenses associated with injuries. They are usually easy to calculate because they are based on a dollar amount. For example, you know how much your doctor’s visit costs because you receive a bill.
While every case is different, your economic damages may include:
- Medical expenses you have incurred due to your injury
- Lost wages for the time you are unable to work after your injury
- Future medical costs
- Property damage
Non-Economic Damages
Hardships you have endured in regard to the emotional, mental, and social toll of your injuries may be recoverable in some circumstances. These are referred to as non-economic damages, and they include things like:
- Pain and suffering
- Emotional distress
- Mental anguish
- Loss of enjoyment of life
Your attorney can advise you if non-economic damages might be part of your compensation.
