11 Alive reported that a car accident led to a bizarre and dangerous chain of events last Tuesday night after a man got into a car accident, chased the other driver with a gun, and then got into a gunfight with Atlanta Police Department before finally being brought into custody.
After a man backed into a vehicle driven by a woman near the intersection of Boulevard and Ponce De Leon, he drove off. So she drove off as well to head back to her work, only to notice minutes later the man was following her. When she stopped, he allegedly exited his car and charged her, gun in hand, so she drove away and then flagged police officers down.
She was able to point him out to Atlanta Police officers, and they attempted to detain him but he ran away. Witnesses helped locate him again, but he ignored directions and then finally pulled a hand out of his pocket, holding what appeared to be a weapon. At least one round was fired by a cop; he ran away again and tried to force his way into a residence before finally being arrested. He was believed to be under the influence of drugs and was examined at Grady Memorial Hospital.
