Channel 13 WMAZ CBS News reported that a 57-year-old woman was killed Friday in Macon after a two-car accident on Thomaston Road.
Officials of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Friday at 6369 Thomas Road, in front of a local trailer park. A 57-year-old woman was making a left turn into the trailer park in her Kia Forte sedan when her vehicle was struck by a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. While the Tacoma driver, a 51-year-old male, was uninjured, the Forte driver was transported to Medical Center, Navicent Health where she succumbed to her injuries, which included blunt force trauma, about an hour later. The accident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500.
WGXA Fox Channel 24 ABC Channel 16 News reported on a wreck in Macon last Tuesday that blocked the intersection of Kumho Parkway and Highway 247 for a period of time.
While few details were given to press about injuries or the cause of the accident, Bibb County deputies were on the scene and warned motorists to expect delays.
