An auto accident that killed a woman from Douglasville on Monday also involved the family dog.
The accident occurred when a driver ran a red light and collided with the woman’s vehicle at a Mableton intersection. The crash occurred at the intersection of Mableton Parkway and Lee Industrial Boulevard Monday Night.
51-year old Pamela L. Sitton was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. In all, four vehicles were involved in the accident.
Sitton’s father, Robert Pugh, drove from North Carolina to Mableton after hearing of his daughter’s death. He came to the crash site to search for the family dog, Max, who apparently ran off after the accident.
A 2005 Dodge Magnum driven by Shanieca Waters, 20, entered into the intersection on a red light and collided with Sitton’s Toyota Sequoia. Waters was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. She was listed in stable condition.
Also involved in the accident were Sitton’s mother and her son. The mother, Julie B. Pugh, was listed in critical condition after also being transported to Grady. The son, who is 14, was treated for a broken finger and released.
During the accident, Sitton’s vehicle rolled and collided with a Mustang. Water’s vehicle struck a Mercedes. The driver of the Mercedes refused treatment at the scene. The driver of the Mustang was listed in stable condition at Atlanta Medical Center.
The family dog has not been seen since the accident. He is described as a black and brown dog that is approximately 2 years old.
