WMAZ Channel 13 CBS News reported recently that a woman was killed along Interstate 75 in Dooly County in the evening hours of Monday, December 28 after being struck by several vehicles due to running out into the fast-moving highway traffic.
According to officials from the Georgia State Patrol and the Dooly County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred on Monday evening around 6:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) along Interstate 75 near the Georgia State Route 27 interchange (Exit 114) when local authorities received several 911 calls about a woman being hit by a car. Responders learned that a sport-utility vehicle had stopped on the shoulder of the southbound lanes and a woman got out of the car and ran into traffic, being struck by several vehicles. The woman, 33 years of age and a Georgia native although not from the immediate area, was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
