New details are emerging in the possible cause of a fatal accident that occurred in Cobb County, Georgia in late March. The fatal accident claimed the life of 51-year-old Pamela Lynn Sitton. Also injured in the accident were Sitton’s mother, 74, and her 14-year-old son, Christian.
On Monday, May 23rd, the 20-year-old woman accused of causing the accident was arrested and charged.
Shanieca Denee Waters was driving on the wrong side of the road to pass another vehicle, speeding and ran the red light at Lee Industrial Blvd and Mableton Parkway. She collided with Sitton, who was on her way home from her son’s soccer game at the time of the accident.
In addition to Sitton’s and Waters’ vehicles, there were two other vehicles involved in the accident. Police found cocaine in Waters’ purse at the scene of the accident.
Sitton’s son suffered injuries to his hand as a result of the accident. Sitton’s mother was only recently released from the hospital after being treated for her injuries. The family dog, which was lost at the scene of the accident, was later recovered and returned to the Sitton family.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Waters in April. Among the charges she is facing are charges of vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle, cocaine possession, and reckless driving. She is being held without bond.
