Fox 5 Atlanta reported recently on a tragic motor vehicle accident in Gwinnett County that led to at least two deaths along the eastbound lanes of Georgia State Highway 316 in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 7.
According to officials from the Gwinnett County Police Department, the incident took place between 5:55 a.m. and 6:05 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Sunday, February 7, 2021 along GA 316 near the Sugarloaf Parkway Exit in Gwinnett County. Responding officers arrived at the scene to find a Chevrolet Malibu sedan that had left the roadway, struck an overhead signpost, and then struck a guardrail before rolling over.
Two passengers in the vehicle were declared dead at the scene of the accident from injuries sustained in the wreck. The driver was arrested and charged with DUI and several other felonies.
