WGXA Fox News reported recently that Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred Thursday, December 3 on Interstate 75 near the I-75 / I-16 split.
According to officials from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred just after 6:00 a.m. on Thursday morning near Macon, when a tractor-trailer hit a Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a fifth wheel style camper. The Dodge and towed RV were forced off the roadway, hitting concrete barriers located along the side of the road, while the truck continued west onto Interstate 16 without stopping.
According to deputies, the driver of the Dodge Ram was unable to provide a description of the semi or the semi’s driver. Any eyewitnesses or anyone with relevant info is asked to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at (478) 751-7500.
