WMAZ Channel 13 CBS News reported recently that a young toddler, sixteen months of age, was killed in Peach County Thursday morning.
The incident occurred on Thanksgiving morning when, according to the Peach County coroner, the toddler was run over by his mother on Red Oak Road. The child was pronounced dead around 11:30 a.m. at the Medical Center of Peach County.
The Peach County sheriff termed the incident a terrible accident and stated the mother would not be charged for her role in the death of the child.
WMAZ also noted that two people were killed in south Macon on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving in an accident being investigated by Bibb County Sheriff deputies. This incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on the Sardis Church Road extension near Walden Road, when a man driving westbound crossed the center line and had a head-on collision with a woman driving east. The collision killed both drivers, as well as a small dog in one of the vehicles.
