Usually, a vehicle versus a pedestrian is never a pretty sight. There are usually several injuries involved in such instances. Sometimes, however, it is a stroke of luck that there are no severe injuries when pedestrians and vehicles mix it up.
Tuesday morning, a vehicle struck several people waiting at a MARTA bus stop. The accident occurred at about 11:15 am at the intersection of North Ave and Boulevard.
The accident involving the pedestrians was also part of a two vehicle accident according to Atlanta Fire Rescue.
Paramedics did take three of the injured victims to hospitals, but it was reported that their injuries were not severe. Two of the victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and a third was taken to Atlanta Medical Center. A fourth refused treatment.
A witness, Aaron Alexander, told media sources that he heard screams from inside his nearby home. He ran out to help those involved in the accident. Alexander reported that no one was unconscious and most of the victims seemed to be in shock.
While all the pedestrians are expected to be okay, there were few details about either of the two vehicles said to have been involved in the crash.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash. There are no additional details available at the time.
