11 Alive News reported recently on a deadly accident involving a stolen SUV in Midtown Atlanta that killed one and seriously injured another last Monday morning.
The incident began between 9:55 a.m. and 10:05 a.m. at 264 Peachtree Center Avenue, the location of the Marriott Marquis Atlanta, when a report of vehicle theft was routed to the Atlanta Police Department. Responding officers found that a Jaguar SUV had just been stolen and attempted to pull the car over at the corner of Piedmont Crossing and Ralph McGill Boulevard. The driver hit a police car and led them on a pursuit that ended when the SUV crashed into a pole near 11th and Juniper Streets.
The driver, a man 23 years of age, was listed in critical condition at Grady Detention. Responders found a woman dead in the vehicle, but no information about her has been released.
