It was a tragic day yesterday in Metro Atlanta. Six teenage boys were killed in two separate crashes in Fulton County. 11 Alive covered the story. Here’s what they had to say.
In South Fulton, a car carrying several teens crashed into a commercial truck. Four teens were killed instantly. A fifth was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. Preliminary reports from the police say that driver of the car ran a red light and crashed into the semi as it was entering the intersection of Butner Rd./Ridge Rd. and Campbellton-Fairburn Rd.
Not an hour later, in North Fulton, a second fatal accident happened. A car crashed into a school bus so hard it wedged itself underneath it. The two teens in that vehicle were also killed instantly. The children on board the bus were all safe and were taken home by their parents. That accident happened at Hwy 92 and West Road. The bus was turning onto West Road when the accident happened.
Regardless of whose fault it was, this is a tragic day for the families and for Atlanta. Our hearts go out to them. We hope that the police will investigate the incidents thoroughly and that the families can get compensation to pay for the final expenses and injuries from these two crashes.
