You would think that a school bus, with its distinctive yellow and black paint job, would be impossible to miss. Yet people run into school buses more than they should. One such incident happened in Dekalb County and injured several students. Six students in all complained of pain after a vehicle hit the back of a school bus. Thankfully, all of the injuries appear to be minor and no one was taken to the hospital. The bus was heading toward Martin Luther King Jr. High in Lithonia. According to the police, the other vehicle was following too closely and hit the bus when it braked.
This was a minor incident, but there are other bus crashes that have been much worse. Parents of children in this incident should keep an eye out for developing pain. One of the insidious things about car accidents is that injuries may not become fully developed until several weeks after an accident. Whiplash and muscle strains don’t always appear immediately.
