Northwest Georgia News reported recently that the Atlanta Police Department is seeking the help of the public citizenry to identify the driver of a vehicle that fled a hit-and-run fatal accident scene in the Buckhead area on New Year’s Eve.
According to a news release from officials of the Atlanta Police Department, the incident occurred near the intersection of Piedmont Road and Sidney Marcus Boulevard between 12:40 a.m. and 12:50 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Thursday, December 31, 2020. A dark blue or black 2016-2018 model Honda Civic fatally struck a pedestrian along Piedmont Road near the intersection of Piedmont and Sidney Marcus Boulevard and fled the scene of the accident. The suspect car will have damage to the front grill and headlight.
Responding police officers found a man lying in the road who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Eyewitnesses stated he was crossing Piedmont when he was hit.
