Leaving the scene of a crime incurs more charges when the person is caught. Leaving the scene of a shooting crime in a stolen vehicle, then crashing the vehicle… that can lead to charges which can possibly be insurmountable.
Three people were involved in a shooting crime just yesterday off of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Lynhurst Drive. A Dodge challenger was stolen at the scene of a shooting, and Fulton County police gave chase.
The police followed the vehicle across the city, occasionally reaching speeds of 100 mph. Driving so fast can lead to vehicles going out of control. A quick turn, a swerve to miss oncoming cars, you name it… and what was once merely fast driving can turn into tragedy.
The vehicle lost control and rolled several times before crashing into four cars. It was fortunate, very fortunate, that there were no injuries reported from this crash. One of the suspects has been apprehended, while the other two fled.
While there were no injuries in this particular case, events like this happen on a regular basis in Metro Atlanta. A swerve here, a wreck there, all of it can lead to aches and pains which happen days, weeks, or months after the accident.
