Even with massive amounts of education spanning decades, people still drive their cars without wearing a seat belts. Worse, sometimes they let their children drive without wearing a seat belt. The results of this after a crash can be seen in this story.
Six people were traveling in a Honda Civic on I-10 in Florida. Their vehicle skidded across the median for unknown reasons and went into oncoming traffic. A truck crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle. No one in the Civic was wearing a seatbelt. All four children were ejected from the rear of the vehicle, as well as an adult passenger. They all died at the scene. The driver of the car is in critical condition.
Five people killed just like that. We don’t know why the car crossed into traffic, but the results are clear about what happens when you don’t wear your seatbelt. Seat belts could have saved the lives of everyone in the vehicle. Considering the type of vehicle, it’s quite possible that the doors were not locked either. Door locks do more than protect your car from being stolen. They also prevent the doors from flying open in the event of a crash.
