The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that a serious injury occurred during a hit-and-run accident in the Atlanta suburb of Powder Springs when a 23-year-old pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on C.H. James Parkway.
The accident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Saturday in the Cobb County town, located about fifteen minutes northwest of Atlanta. A 23-year-old male who resides in Acworth, a Cobb County town, was walking in the southbound traffic lanes of C.H. James Parkway, a major arterial roadway. Suddenly, he was struck by a southbound vehicle as it approached the intersection with Hill Road. The pedestrian was taken to Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver fled the scene without being identified.
The accident is being investigated by Powder Springs Police Department in association with investigators from the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program of the Cobb County Police Department.
