11 Alive reported Wednesday morning on an unfortunate accident in Atlanta that led to the hospitalization of a pedestrian and the motorcyclist who struck her.
The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday evening near the 1000 block of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, formerly known as Bankhead Highway, when officers from the Atlanta Police Department responded to a call for a pedestrian-related accident. Upon arrival, they found a woman lying in the road along with an injured man who had been riding a motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver had apparently struck the woman, identified by witnesses at the scene as a pedestrian, and she was taken to the hospital in critical condition due to the injuries sustained in the accident. The motorcycle driver was also medically transported although his injuries were less severe and deemed not life-threatening.
Members of the Atlanta Police Department Accident Response Team are investigating the accident and working to determine fault. Anyone with relevant info should contact the Atlanta Police with anything that could assist the ongoing investigation.
