The Cherokee Tribune and Ledger-News reported last Saturday on a truck accident in the northwest Atlanta suburb of Smyrna that led to an overturned truck and, miraculously, no serious injuries.
The incident took place Saturday morning at the busy intersection of Windy Hill Road and Atlanta Road, one of the busiest surface street intersections in the region. A white Jeep SUV and a large box truck were involved in the wreck, both apparently severely damaged. While Smyrna Police Department spokespeople did not provide details of how the wreck occurred, they did confirm no major injuries were sustained.
Smyrna Police Department social media posts about the accident noted the importance of driving safely in wet conditions. “With all the rain last night and the rain continuing today, the roads are very wet and slippery,” police said on social media. “Please slow down, allow extra time for (braking), and pay attention.”
According to Smyrna Police Department, most accidents take place because of speed, distracted driving and misjudgment.
