11 Alive reports that a man was killed on Saturday, December 26 after being hit by a motor vehicle while walking down the Downtown Connector in Atlanta.
According to officials from the Atlanta Police Department, APD personnel were called to an accident scene along the Downtown Connector, a stretch of highway through central Atlanta where I-75 and I-85 run together, near the Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard exit around 6:20 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on the evening of Saturday, December 26. They located a man who had been hit by a passing motor vehicle and who was not conscious, breathing, or alert when they arrived. Responding crews from Grady Emergency Medical Services pronounced the victim dead at the scene of the accident.
The investigation is in progress and the driver that hit the victim remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
