There is alot of noise about how much trouble texting while driving can cause. What alot of people haven’t realized yet, is that texting while walking can also be dangerous. It’s just as much a distraction to what’s ahead as when you’re driving. Texting while walking has all kinds of risks of its own, such as running into something — including traffic!
A mobile phone company has now released a new phone service that might be able to prevent some of these pedestrian accidents from happening. The application is voluntary, of course, and it’s process is quite simple. When someone has the service on and then tries to use thier phone while walking, a reminder pops on the screen that says “Using your smartphone while walking is dangerous. The phone senses you are walking. Please stop.” The user does have the option of ignoring the message and continue on using the phone while walking if they should choose to.
It’s never a good idea to put your own safety at risk. If you do find yourself injured in an accident, you should contact an attorney you trust for legal assistance with the matter.
