One thing we can certainly say about the new Braves stadium is that it doesn’t help traffic in Cobb County. But some of the people taking alternate routes are driving dangerously down the road. Witnesses saw a fatal crash on South Cobb Drive where a young driver is alleged to have been speeding. The AJC has the story.
The incident happened on Sunday just after noon. An older man in a white pickup truck was making a left into a gas station. Eyewitnesses say that they saw a Mustang traveling around 70 mph plow directly into the side of the pickup truck, rolling it over several times. The driver of the truck died immediately in the crash. The Mustang driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
There were many witnesses in this crash, so the investigators should have no trouble piecing together the events. If it is indeed found that the responsible driver was speeding that fast on that road, serious charges may be brought forward.
The family of the deceased should also get compensation for the loss of their loved one. If they are fortunate, insurance should cover the costs. But this isn’t always the case, and sometimes the person responsible needs to be punished.
