Today we have a story from Cherokee County about the death of a music teacher in an accident. WSB TV has the story.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident. For reasons unknown, a pickup truck went off the road and hit a dirt pile. This caused the truck to take off and fall down a 100 ft embankment, striking the ground front-end first before flipping onto the roof. The driver was crushed inside the vehicle.
9-11 callers reported that the truck was moving at a high rate of speed before the crash on I-575 near Ridgewalk Parkway. There is now an investigation underway to determine what caused the crash. Current theories are that another car ran the truck off the road or a medical emergency. The dirt pile was on the shoulder of the road near a construction site for the Northwest Corridor Project.
For the family of the victim, the answer for what happened to cause crash won’t just help with closure. It will also help with negotiations between the family and the insurance company. Final expenses can run well over $10,000 and most people don’t have that amount of money sitting around. Insurance is supposed to help, but sometimes they need some persuasion.
