In an accident that occurred on April 16, two young boys were severely injured and one tragically lost his life. The community gathered together in mourning and to demand justice. On Wednesday, April 20th, friends and family along with members of the community gathered at the site of the fatal crash.
Some of those gathered were questioning why and how 28-year-old Ryan Lisabeth of Canton, Georgia was on the road. Lisabeth has an extensive criminal history that involved DUI and drug charges.
Michelle Ward, mother of 9-year-old Isaiah, who was killed in the crash had only this to say of Lisabeth: “I hope he goes to hell.”
The family is now working with an attorney, who was also present at the candlelight vigil. Isaiah’s 11-year-old brother was also involved in the accident. He is suffering from a broken pelvis. A third child, 12-year-old Timothy Hood, remains in the hospital. His condition is unknown.
Court records indicate that Lisabeth is facing numerous serious charges. They include vehicular homicide in the first degree, driving under the influence of heroin, and heroin possession. He was denied bond.
Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard stated that his office is looking into whether more serious charges are warranted.
Lisabeth’s attorney released a statement saying that Lisabeth and his family were deeply concerned for those injured in the accident and that they hoped they recovered.
