The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported recently that five people were injured Monday morning when a Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) bus collided with a passenger car in Midtown Atlanta.
According to officials from local law enforcement agencies, the crash occurred on Peachtree Street in the area of the Buford-Spring Connector on the morning of Monday, February 1, sometime before 7:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST.) The crash temporarily shut down the southbound lanes of Peachtree Street near the Buford-Spring Connector. Four people on the MARTA bus were reportedly injured in the incident, all of which were cared for by paramedics at the scene of the accident, while one person in the passenger vehicle involved was taken to a local hospital.
The condition of the victim in the car after arriving at the hospital is unknown.
