We all know that we should never flee a traffic stop. Running from the police only leads to more charges. But in today’s case, the flight lead to the man’s death, but not by the police. Instead, he crashed into a home.
The man driving the Maserati was pulled over at Peachtree and Lenox late in the evening by Georgia State Patrol. He was pulled over for minor traffic violations. As the trooper approached, the man sped off. Maybe he thought that his sports car would give him an edge? We’ll never know.
The chase lasted for roughly a half hour before the car crashed in the Brookhaven area off North Druid Hills Road. The car had crashed into a house, plowing into the living room of a very surprised homeowner. The driver died of his injuries.
A passenger was in the car as well, but she says she didn’t know the driver and was only getting a ride. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. No one in the home was hurt. It is unknown at this time whether the driver was intoxicated or not.
The passenger in this incident had an unlucky night. Hopefully she will be able to receive compensation for her injuries. If you are a passenger in a car and you get injured, you may also be eligible for compensation. Find out. Contact the law offices of John Foy & Associates.
