11 Alive reported recently that major traffic congestion on Interstate 85 in Atlanta resulted last week from an incident in which a dead man was found in a vehicle alone, having been fatally wounded by a firearm.
According to officials from the Atlanta Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, and other responding law enforcement agencies, an automobile wreck and police investigation of a man shot to death while alone in his vehicle led to severe traffic congestion on the busy I-85 stretch near North Druid Hills Road on the northeast side of Atlanta. The victim was alone in his car and described as a man in his forties, although his identity was not released to the press. The incident resulted in a long-term closure of all lanes of I-85 north near the N Druid Hills interchange.
