Fetch Your News reported that a tragic three-vehicle accident on Monday, November 23rd in Gainesville led to a local man being hospitalized with critical injuries.
The incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Georgia State Route 53 in Gainesville. A Salisbury man, 50 years of age, was driving a 2019 Peterbilt tractor-trailer eastbound near Amicalola Forest Drive and negotiating a curve along a downhill stretch of road. The Peterbilt started to overturn and impacted a 2017 Peterbilt headed westbound on SR 53, driven by a Rome man 48 years of age. The eastbound tractor-trailer then continued overturning and struck a westbound 2018 Toyota RAV4 driven by a Gainesville man 46 years of age.
The driver of the RAV4 was seriously injured and transported by life flight to a hospital. His name has not been released by authorities.
The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Crash Reconstruction Team is performing an independent investigation, while officials from the Motor Carrier Compliance Division responded to the accident scene. There is no evidence of intoxicants being a factor in the crash.
