Fox Channel 24 ABC Channel 16 WGXA News reported recently on a Georgia law enforcement officer hospitalized in Macon following a car wreck.
The Georgia Department of Public Safety Sergeant, son of longtime Macon Police Department chief, was transported to a hospital in Macon for treatment following the accident on Monday, September 28. Georgia governor Brian P. Kemp tweeted his thoughts and prayers for the officer.
The same day in Atlanta, 11 Alive reported on a teen that was hit by a car and taken to a local hospital while selling water in midtown.
An Atlanta Police Department spokesperson stated the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Spring and 17th Streets, when a 15-year-old boy was hit while selling water on the busy roadway. The lad was described as alert, conscious, and breathing by responding officers but suffered leg and head pain. He was taken to Egleston Hospital for treatment.
The driver involved in the accident as well as an eyewitness remained at the scene and are cooperating with an ongoing police investigation.
