WJCL Channel 22 ABC News reported recently that a motor vehicle accident along Interstate 16 in middle Georgia, near the I-16 / I-95 interchange, left a young campaign staffer for GOP U.S. Senate candidate Kelly Loeffler dead.
According to officials from the Georgia Department of Transportation and Chatham Emergency Services, the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of I-16 around Pooler Parkway. The incident took place between 10:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on Friday, December 4, when four vehicles were involved in a violent crash, including a flat-bed truck carrying a load of steel, two smaller vehicles, and a tractor-trailer, three of which were fully involved in flame due to the aftermath of the accident. One of the smaller vehicles was driven by a young campaign staffer for Senate candidate Kelly Loeffler, who was killed in the crash; three other individuals received various injuries.
The young man, from Bulloch County, was twenty years of age. He was scheduled to graduate from the University of Georgia with the class of 2022 and had interned with Senator Perdue, another U.S. Senator, prior to working with Ms. Loeffler’s campaign.
