At least three cars were damaged beyond repair by fallen sheep when a truck rolled on a highway in the southern Australian city of Melbourne. The accident happened late Thursday night around 9:00 pm local time.
Hundreds of sheep fell from the vehicle and were strewn all across the highway. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt. However, one man was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries after his car rolled over four times. Three other people, including the truck driver, were assessed at the scene and escaped injury.
Heavy towing equipment was brought in to remove the truck because it was heavily wrapped around the overpass, making it difficult to remove. The accident caused a major on-looker pile up causing significant delays. All the sheep were put down.
Although this accident didn’t pose any serious injuries, the outcome could have been different resulting in something more serious.
